Apple Music is a subscription service from Apple with on-demand streaming music and thousands of radio stations. It competes with other major streaming services, such as Spotify and Google Play Music. The service includes iCloud storage for up to 100,000 songs, ad-free listening, and the ability to download tracks for offline playback. It is available in over 167 countries.
With Apple Music, you can build your own radio station by following playlists or experts like Eddy Cue or Drake. They curate their own radio stations based on genre. You can also listen to the Beats 1 radio station, which broadcasts 24 hours a day with shows hosted by DJs like Zane Lowe, Elton John, and St. Vincent. You can then listen to your favorite artist's albums on-demand or check out new artists, upcoming releases, and more.
You can subscribe to Apple Music at three different price levels:
There are three other ways you can listen to music:
iTunes Match—($24.99 per year) If you already have a large iTunes library that is not on your device, iTunes Match stores your songs in iCloud so that they are available across your devices whenever you want them without having to stream them.
iTunes—You can listen to your iTunes music library whenever you want on a Mac or PC.
Radio Stations—You can listen to free radio stations on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with Apple Radio.
iCloud Music Library is a feature that seamlessly stores all of the songs uploaded from iTunes or purchased on Apple Music in iCloud for Access across all of your devices at no extra cost.
iCloud Music Library is an excellent feature for music lovers who like to listen to music on multiple devices. You don't have to worry about syncing your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch with your computer with this service. Instead, your music is accessible from any device with an Apple ID account or Apple Music subscription. You can also upgrade the storage of your iCloud account at no extra charge so that you can store 100,000 songs on this service instead of just the free 5GB included with most iCloud accounts. And if more than one person in a family has an Apple Music subscription, each person gets their own collection.
Apple Music Radio lets you listen to curated radio stations based on artists, genres, and songs. There are over 100 stations you can choose from, including stations like Beats 1 radio. You can also create your own custom station based on a song or artist. Each station has its own host that keeps you entertained with fun facts, trivia, and more.
Yes, Siri does have an Apple Music integration; you can use her to search for music and make requests. For example, you can ask Siri to play a specific artist or song or give her a suggestion based on your location or the time of day. To get started, just say, "Hey Siri."
Beats 1 is a 24/7 radio station hosted by DJs Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden and other well-known DJs like Elton John and St. Vincent.
