Because it is possible for all your communications to remain synchronized across your iOS and Mac devices, iMessage has a good chance of becoming the communication app of choice for Apple consumers. However, because not everyone uses Apple devices, messaging with some individuals will still need the usage of SMS. Not only can you use your iPad or Mac to view your SMS messages, but you can also write new ones and send them from those devices. We'll demonstrate how to do it.
Access your text messages on your iPad and Mac. Turn on Messages in iCloud Instructions for receiving text messages on your iPad and Mac. This functionality is referred to as Text Message Forwarding, and it's required to use SMS via your iPad or Mac. The process of installing iMessage on an iPad is quite similar to the operation of installing it on an iPhone. If you need more guidance, look at our tutorial on installing iMessage on a Mac. After that has been established, you will be able to activate Text Message Forwarding on your iPhone in the following manner:
To enable forwarding, you must first move the switches to the "on" position on each device you want to receive text messages. Any new SMS or MMS text messages (green text bubbles) on your best iPhone are now forwarded to the devices you have chosen. as long as your iPhone is switched on and connected to Wi-Fi or a cellular network. This is the case as long as your iPhone is turned on. You may respond to these text and multimedia communications on your iPad and your Mac using the corresponding apps.
It may take a little while for everything to sync up the first time you turn on the feature, but if it isn't working or you can't find the setting, try turning it off and then back on again. After that, check to see that all your devices are compatible with the minimal criteria for Continuity. Any Mac running OS X Yosemite or a later version, as well as any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 8 or the last performance, may send and receive SMS messages.
Apple can save all your communication history in iCloud, making it accessible on all your Apple devices, even fresh new ones, and ensuring that it is always up to date. This is how you activate the feature. Verify that you are signed in to the appropriate Apple ID on all devices—including the iPhone, iPad, and Macs—that you want to synchronize.
Since iMessage, SMS, and MMS messages can now be seen on your iPad and Mac, you won't have to worry about missing an important notification again. Or only can you use your iPad or Mac to view your SMS messages, but you can also write new ones and send them from those devices. We'll demonstrate how to do it.

In addition, you don't need to whip out your iPhone every time you want to text someone — not even your buddies in the green bubble — which is a tremendous time-saver.
