When it comes to computers, many IT companies have been overusing the phrase "Pro." The "pro" is getting much attention because of its superiority over cheaper options. "Pro" has always meant "creative professionals," in my view, which is what it always meant to me. Creative professionals are eager to fork over extra money for the greatest equipment to get the most out of their creative endeavors. At Rs 1,04,999, HP Envy 14 is more affordable than ever imagined for a laptop targeted at creative professionals. So, I think of the HP Envy 14 after using it for a week.

The HP Envy 14 (2021) laptop's design and appearance

Compared to HP's "Spectre" notebooks, the Envy 14 is a more understated design choice for me. Although the Envy 14's design was more enticing to me, it didn't compromise on quality or aesthetics, unlike the Envy 12. Because it isn't an ultra-thin notebook, I don't have any issues stowing this gadget in a backpack or purse. The HP Envy 14 weighs just 1.49 kg in light of its high-performance capabilities. Laptops used by videographers and photographers have enough USB ports. The USB-A Gen 3.1 ports on the Envy 14 can be found on the laptop's front and back. There's also a Type-C port with a complete Thunderbolt 4 port, a microSD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Internet connections are made using WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Review the HP Envy screen and speakers with a WUXGA (1920 x 1200p) resolution. The anti-glare display feels expansive and dazzling. However, the lack of 4K resolution on Productivity users will like the 16:10 aspect ratio of the laptop's display rather than the more media-centric 16:9 aspect ratio. Pre-calibrated options are available in HP Display Control for creative work, such as editing videos or photographs.

The speakers of the Envy 14

A maximum of 400 nits of brightness is available indoors and outdoors. The display's coverage of the whole sRGB color space gives the colors a significant punch. Even though I'm not an expert in display technology, Envy's non-touchscreen proved more than suitable for basic photo editing, office work, or watching movies. There's a decent 720p webcam above the monitor. During video discussions, you can use the display as an artificially enhanced ring light to illuminate your face using HP Enhanced Lighting.

The speakers of the Envy 14 are excellent. Using this laptop with Bang &'' Olufsen speakers to play Dirt 5 was a wonderful experience. They lack bass, however. I had no issues with audio quality on two Zoom calls this week.

The trackpad and keyboard of the HP Envy 14 (2021) are reviewed. The joy of typing on a computer keyboard can't be overstated. The keyboard is a joy to type on because it is responsive and lively. The key travel and spacing are both generous. In low-light circumstances, the two-level backlighting is outstanding and looks wonderful. Having separate camera and microphone mute keys on the keyboard was also handy. There is also an HP Command Center button, which helps you optimize your machine's performance. Fingerprint sensors are integrated into the keyboard and work well enough. The precision trackpad, despite being large, lacks responsiveness.

The HP Envy 14's battery life

Despite its diminutive stature, the Envy 14 is a very capable machine. A noticeable increase in speed can be seen after just a few days of use. A good upgrade for those who need a laptop comparable to a "pro-level" workstation at an entry-level pricing point. An NVIDIA

Envy 14 was able to run multiple applications and open tabs simultaneously throughout testing. Even though the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti (Max-Q) graphics card isn't supposed to be a gaming laptop, I was able to run Dirt 5 at 40 frames per second with it. It's still possible for the laptop to overheat after a long gaming session.
